UF Membrane — 4040 / 8040

Ultrafiltration membranes for CED paint recovery and permeate generation, in 4040 and 8040 formats.

Overview

Ultrafiltration (UF) is a pressure-driven membrane process. In a CED plant, bath paint is circulated through the UF membranes: paint resins and pigments are retained and returned to the tank, while water, solvents and low-molecular-weight salts pass through as UF permeate.

The permeate is used for rinsing coated parts, so drag-out paint can be recovered back into the tank, and part of it can be bled off to help control bath conductivity. The membranes are offered in 4040 and 8040 formats.
